JAMES CLYNE | Vis Com 4 on a FallingWater style Space Station

Last week we had the fantastic opportunity to have James Clyne to come and talk to us about what he does for the movie industry as a Concept Designer and he assigned us an assignment to make a space station in the style of the FallingWater house by Frank Lloyd Write.

Here is my initial research on the project where in the first page I identified some relevant theme and key point that Frank Lloyd Wright focused on when designing this house.

The next two are where my mind went from there. And right now I am currently working on the Space Station that will be inspired or reflect all this.

And after all this research here it is. I used photoshop to compose the background. Sketch up to make the 3d model and environment then Bunk speed to render the model on the background then back to photoshop to give it the dynamic whirls etc…

One of my class is Visual Communication 4, we learn to render using photoshop design pieces or forms etc…

Last week we had the good fortune to have Scott Robertson give us some of his tips to photoshop rendering fast!!! And its a lot of fun.

Here are 3 examples that I did using his technics on photoshoping using random patterns.

NOMAD LAMP FINAL PROJECT | Carbon Fibre

Last term final project. A LED lamp out of carbon fibre deisgned for the mobile worker. with a strong focus on fun as the lamp feels like a toy. There was 2 version a carbon fibre version which is meant to be more expensive and thus for the executive and a cheaper allumiun customizable version which comes in a range of colours.

2025 NextGen Business Opportunity

Design Synopses:

In 2025 the number of persons using the airplane industry as a mean of transportation will triple. The current NextGen technology used to optimize and simplify the control and order of multiple flights coordination will not be able to be sufficient to hold this growth. Using these facts, what is a possible niche on which a Design opportunity could be applied.

Here is what a group of us students of Art Center (Jin Kim, Ji Hoon Kim and Uri Tzarnotzky) proposed to members of the NASA as well as the FAA:
